Op zaterdag 25 juli 2026 heeft Joop Boerstoel het voorzitterschap van WASBE (World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles) overgenomen van Miguel Etchegoncelay.
Deze overdracht vond plaats tijdens de ledenvergadering van de organisatie tijdens de laatste dag van de 2-jaarlijkse conferentie in Rio de Janeiro (Brazilië).

On Saturday, July 25, 2026, Joop Boerstoel took over the presidency of WASBE (World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles) from Miguel Etchegoncelay.
